[ARCHIVED] NPD Investigates Early-Morning Homicide

On September 14, 2014 at 4:15 a.m., Norfolk Police responded to a gunshot disturbance near the intersection of Reservoir Avenue and Goff Street. While officers were responding to the intersection, three adult male victims arrived in a personal vehicle to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with gunshot wounds. Two victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and are currently in stable condition. A third victim, 24-year-old Jordan Smith, sustained a life-threatening injury and was declared deceased shortly after arriving to the hospital.

Canvassing officers located a crime scene at the intersection of Reservoir Avenue and Goff Street, where the shooting is thought to have taken place. Norfolk Police Detectives are actively investigating this incident, and are requesting the public's assistance in providing more information on potential suspect(s). No motive for the shooting has been confirmed.

**Update** On September 14, 2014 shortly after 12:00 p.m., an adult male walked into Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk requesting treatment for an apparent, non-life threatening, gunshot wound. The injury is thought to be a result of the shooting incident in Norfolk at Reservoir Avenue and Goff Street. Norfolk Police Detectives are handling the investigation and looking into the possibility of a fourth shooting victim from this morning's incident. **End of Update**
