On September 14, 2014, shortly before 10:00 p.m., the Norfolk Emergency Communications Center received a call for a traffic accident involving a single vehicle in the 200 block of W. Brambleton Avenue. Police and Fire Rescue arrived to the scene and discovered a single occupant in a sports utility vehicle. The driver was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, with serious, life-threatening injuries. The Norfolk Traffic Fatality Team conducted the investigation. Both eastbound and westbound lanes in the 200 block of W. Brambleton Avenue were closed for several hours. At this time, it is unknown what caused the accident to occur.
