[ARCHIVED] Police Investigate Stabbing of 11-year-old

Norfolk Police are currently investigating an incident involving two children. Shortly after 3:15 this afternoon, police responded to the 100 block of Stafford Avenue for an 11-year-old boy that was stabbed. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and a 13-year-old boy were involved in a verbal dispute, which resulted in the 11-year-old child being stabbed. The injured child was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury. The 13-year-old boy was charged with one count of malicious wounding and is being held at the Norfolk Juvenile Detention Center.
