[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police Investigate Early-Morning Homicide

Shortly before 12:45 this morning, police were called to the 200 block of Hough Avenue for reports of a gunshot victim. Once police arrived, they located a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. Norfolk Fire Rescue transported the 17-year-old from the scene to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where the young man was pronounced deceased. The exact cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the victim’s identification will not be released until next of kin have been properly notified. Detectives are actively investigating this crime and are currently categorizing their investigation as a homicide.
