[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police Investigate Double Shooting

UPDATE 11/20/2014:
Norfolk Police Detectives have now classified this incident as an Attempted Homicide and Suicide. The investigation reveals that 37-year-old Timothy D. Vines of the 5400 block of Green Plain Road shot his 31-year-old wife before he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. During the incident there were 3 children in the home, ages 12, 9, and 6, who were not injured. The woman is currently in the hospital with serious injuries.

Norfolk Dispatch received a call shortly before 5:30 this morning for a report of two people who had possibly been shot in the 5400 block of Greenplain Road. Responding officers discovered a man and woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced at the scene by Norfolk Fire Rescue, and the woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries. Detectives are actively investigating this incident and ask anyone who may have information about this crime to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
