On November 18 2014, shortly after 7:30 pm, police were called to the 7900 block of Shore Drive for a suspicious situation. A 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old women told police that a man who identified himself as a police officer detained and searched them. The man then fled the area in a dark colored SUV. Yesterday, Norfolk Fugitive Unit, along with Newport News Police Department and United States Marshals Task Force arrested 27-year-old Kyle P. Adams of Newport News with 2 counts of Impersonating a Police Officer, 2 counts of Abduction and 2 counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. No one was injured during this incident. Kyle Adams is currently held in the Newport News City Jail.
