On December 2, 2014 shortly before 5 pm police responded to Norfolk Yacht Club located at 7001 Hampton Blvd for a gunshot disturbance. Once on scene, police located the suspected shooter and arrested him without incident.
55 year-old Ramon P. Ballesteros of the 1200 block of Curie Court has been charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding, Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Willfully Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place.
Preliminary investigation reveals that Ramon Ballesteros, who is an employee of the Norfolk Yacht Club, returned to work intoxicated and fired several shots outside and inside the club.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
