Norfolk Police were on scene of a confirmed bank robbery earlier this morning.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., police responded to the Chartway Federal Credit Union at 4702 Hampton Boulevard for reports of a hold-up alarm. Officers confirmed a robbery had occurred, but the suspect fled from the scene shortly before police arrived. There were no injuries reported during the incident.
Detectives have described the possible suspect as a black male with a medium complexion, approximately 30-35 years of age, 6'0" in height and weighing 180-200 pounds. The man was wearing a black knit cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and covered his face with a black and white scarf. He was last seen running from the bank northbound on Hampton Boulevard.
