[ARCHIVED] Norfolk teen dies in vehicle crash

This morning around 2:20 am, police were notified of a single vehicle crash with injuries in the 8500 block of Chesapeake Blvd.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

The 22-year-old driver, Louis Suazo-Walto, of Norfolk was treated for minor injuries, before being arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

The passenger, a 17-year-old Norfolk teen, died at the scene of the crash.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle, and no other reported injuries.

The results of the investigation will be turned over to the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office for review, and consideration for further charges.
