Shortly before 2:50 p.m. this afternoon, an over height tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on Hampton Blvd and struck the signal wires at the intersection of Jamestown Crescent.
The wires, and traffic signals were pulled down onto two vehicles traveling northbound. One woman was transported to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was cited for exceeding the height limit on Hampton Blvd.
Both North and Southbound lanes of Hampton Blvd at Jamestown Crescent are currently closed. Dominion Virginia Power, and City of Norfolk work crews are on-scene. Estimated repair time is three to four hours.
Drivers traveling south on Hampton Blvd are being detoured to Manchester Avenue, and drivers traveling north on Hampton Blvd are being detoured to Magnolia Avenue.
