Shortly after midnight on February 25, 2015, a 9-1-1 caller reported an assault in progress in the 500 block of West 26th Street.
When police arrived, they found 63-year-old Cynthia Miller unconscious, and not breathing. She died at the scene.
Detectives have charged 33-year-old Nehemiah Surratt with 2nd Degree Murder in the death of Ms. Miller. Surratt was arrested at the scene.
Surratt is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
