[ARCHIVED] Industrial Accident Investigation on South Main Street

Updated Release 03/31/2015:

The victim in the industrial accident that occurred on March 30th 2015 in the 100 block of South Main Street, has been identified as 58-year-old, Donald R. Thomas of the 1500 block of Blue Ridge Road in Chesapeake Virginia.

Norfolk Fire Rescue, Norfolk Police, and Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating this industrial incident.

Previous Release 03/30/2015:
Shortly after 1:20 this afternoon, March 30, 2015, Norfolk Fire Rescue and Norfolk Police responded to an industrial accident in the 100 block of South Main Street at Colonna’s Shipyard.

Once on scene, paramedics located a man who was involved in the industrial accident, and pronounced him at the scene.

The man’s identity will not be released until next of kin notification is made.

There were no other injuries reported.

At this time, Norfolk Fire Rescue, Norfolk Police, and Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating this industrial incident.
