Shortly after 9:00 P.M., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call for shots fired in the 800 block of Whitaker Lane. Upon arrival, police found a 53-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he later died.
