[ARCHIVED] Homicide investigators searching for leads

Updated Release 7/10/15:
Police have identified Norfolk resident, 25-year-old Charles D. Spencer of the 1100 block of Louisa Street, as the victim in last evening's homicide incident. Norfolk police have not released any other information pertaining to the crime, and ask anyone who may have information about this homicide investigation to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Previous Release 7/9/15:
Shortly before 10:00 p.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received multiple calls for shots being fired in the area of Fluvanna Street and Appomattox Street.

Upon arrival, police found a man in the 900 block of Appomattox Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he later died. The identity of the man will not be released until proper next of kin notification is made.

Norfolk Homicide Detectives are investigating this incident and are encouraging anyone with any information to contact them at 664-7023, or the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
