[ARCHIVED] Man in custody after deadly Norfolk shooting

Norfolk Police confirm that 21-year-old Chasity Parker of Norfolk was shot and killed late Tuesday evening in the 3300 block of Kimball Terrace.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Norfolk Fugitive Squad, with the assistance of the Chesapeake Police and Chesapeake Sheriff Office Fugitive Squads, tracked down her alleged killer, 22-year-old Steven T. Williams of Norfolk, at a Chesapeake hotel in the 700 block Woodlake Drive early this morning.

Williams, of the 1000 block of Norchester Ave, was taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, Armed Burglary, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, and Assault and Battery.

During the incident Parker’s 75–year-old Grandmother received a non-life threatening assault injury inside the home, and was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where she is expected to make a full recovery.

At this time, the relationship between Parker and Williams is being withheld, as the investigation is ongoing.

Williams is currently being processed, as such his photo will not be available for release until the booking process is complete.

A shooting in Norfolk late Tuesday evening left one person dead, and police searching for the shooter.

Shortly after 10:30 this evening police responded to the 3300 block of Kimball Terrace for a report of a 23-year-old woman who had been shot inside the residence.

The woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where she died. Her identity will not be released until the next of kin notification process has been completed.

Police are searching the area for a black man wearing dark clothing who was last seen traveling on a bicycle.
