[ARCHIVED] Norfolk shooting leaves one man dead

Norfolk police have confirmed that 22-year-old Richard W. Owens of Norfolk was shot and killed early Sunday morning in the 900 block of Bagnall Road.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Previous Release 8/2/15:

A shooting in Norfolk early Sunday morning left one man dead and police searching for leads.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to the 900 block of Bagnall Road for a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will not be released until the next of kin notification process has been completed.

Police have not released any suspect information and detectives continue to investigate this incident.

At this time, detectives have not confirmed the homicide is related to a shooting incident that occurred in the 800 block of E. Olney Road shortly before 5:00 a.m. this morning.
