[ARCHIVED] One transported to hospital after shooting

A man is in critical condition after being shot in Norfolk early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 4:45 a.m. this morning, police responded to the 800 block of E. Olney Road for a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Detectives are searching the area for investigative leads, and have not released any suspect information.

Police have not confirmed this incident is related to a homicide that occurred in the 900 block of Bagnall Road shortly after 4:30 a.m. this morning.
