[ARCHIVED] Man arrested after stabbing in Norfolk

A man is in police custody following a stabbing at Lafayette Park this afternoon.

At 1:20 p.m., Norfolk dispatchers received a call regarding a person who may have been stabbed in the 3500 block of Granby Street. Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and located a man suffering from non-life threatening lacerations.

The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that two men were involved in an argument, which escalated into a physical altercation. One man brandished a knife, causing minor lacerations to the victim.

The weapon was recovered at the scene and police took the suspect into custody without further incident.

Although the possible suspect is in police custody, the investigation is still ongoing.
