[ARCHIVED] Man wanted for Murder arrested

The Norfolk Police Fugitive Unit with the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Task Force have arrested a man wanted for Murder.

On July 26th. 2015 shortly before 4:00 a.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call for a gunshot victim in the 400 block of Chapel Street.

Upon arrival, police found 31-year-old Jarrod E. Lamb suffering from a gunshot wound. Lamb was transported to Sentara Norfolk General where he later died.

Norfolk Homicide Investigators identified 33-year-old Theron Hammond as the man who shot and killed Lamb.

Hammond was wanted on 1 count of Second Degree Murder, 1 count of Malicious Wounding, and 2 counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.

On 8/25/2015 shortly before 5:30 p.m., Hammond was arrested in the 7600 block of Gifford Street without incident.
