[ARCHIVED] Crash sends officer to hospital with minor injuries

A Norfolk Police Officer was transported to a hospital this morning with minor injuries he received in single vehicle crash.

Shortly after 9:00 am this morning a police officer was flagged down by a person in the 4100 block of Colley Ave and advised about a possible stolen vehicle.

As the officer was searching the area for the vehicle, he drove into the parking lot at 4107 Colley Ave, and struck a concrete barrier with his marked patrol car, which he did not see.

During the crash he received minor injuries and was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

There were no other vehicles, or people involved in this crash, and the patrol car received minor damage.

The suspected stolen vehicle was not located.

There is no further information available for release.
