[ARCHIVED] One man dead and another injured in Norfolk double shooting

Update 09/10/2015:

A 19-year-old Norfolk man has been identified as the man fatally shot in Wednesday afternoon’s shooting in Ocean View.

Couran Poole died at the hospital after a shooting broke out in the Ashley Trace Apartment complex in the 600 block of E. Leicester Avenue yesterday.

As officers responded to a shots fired call around 1:20 pm near Pinedale and E. Leicester, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

The second man who was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound is currently listed in stable condition, and is expected to survive.

As detectives are investigating this double shooting to determine what led to both men being shot, they encourage anyone who may have information to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at either:

Norfolk Police Detectives are investigating a double shooting this afternoon in Ocean View that left one man dead, and another man injured.

Around 1:20 p.m. police received a call for shots fired near Pinedale Street and E. Leicester Avenue.

When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is currently in surgery for a non-life threatening injury.

During the investigation officers were told of another man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 600 block of E. Leicester Avenue.

When officers arrived there, they found a second man who had been shot. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died.

As detectives are investigating this double shooting to determine what led to both men being shot, they encourage anyone who may have information to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at either:
