[ARCHIVED] Elementary student tells police that a stranger grabbed her while walking to the bus stop

Norfolk police is searching for a man who grabbed a child’s arm this morning near Camp Allen Elementary School just after 8 a.m.

Around 9:15 this morning, police were called to Camp Allen Elementary School for a suspicious situation.

An 11-year-old girl told police that as she was walking to her bus stop at Diven and Hanna Street, a man she did not know grabbed her.

The girl was able to get from the man, unharmed.

The suspect is described as a white man around 5’9 - 6’0 and between 200 - 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt, green shorts, and had a white towel around his neck.

The man rode away on a black beach cruiser.

Detectives are actively investigating this incident and encourage anyone who may believe they know the suspect, or who may have information about this case, to call the Norfolk Crime Line at either:
