[ARCHIVED] Police investigating fatal stabbing in Norfolk

Norfolk, Va. – Detectives are investigating a stabbing that left a man dead Tuesday afternoon in the Ocean Air section of Norfolk.

Police received reports of an assault in progress in the 500 block of Farrell Street around 3:30 p.m. today.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man suffering from multiple stab wounds in a parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have not determined if this fatal stabbing is connected to the shooting that occurred a block away last Sunday which left a woman with critical injuries.

Once the next of kin notification process is completed, the man's identity will be released.

There is no suspect or additional information available for release at this time.
