[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Man charged in Hemlock Street Homicide

Norfolk, Va. – Detectives have charged a man for a shooting that left a 26-year-old dead in the Coleman Place section of Norfolk last Saturday.

Shortly after 2:15 am on October 31, 2015, police responded to the 1500 block of Hemlock Street for reports of a man who had been shot.

When police arrived they found a 26-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Quintin L. Cuffee, of the 2400 block of Nevada Avenue, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died.

Detectives have charged 28-year-old Troy L. Smith, of the 2100 block of Lafayette Blvd, with one count each of 2nd degree murder, malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
