[ARCHIVED] Man dies at Norfolk hospital with gunshot wound

Update 11/12/2015:
Norfolk, Va. – A man remains behind bars after the deadly shooting of 19-year-old Trenton D. Holland of Norfolk.

Holland succumbed to his injuries shortly after being shot in the 800 block of Lindenwood Avenue in Norfolk on November 9, 2015. Although police quickly responded to the scene, the apparent suspect had fled from the area prior to their arrival.

Homicide detectives pursued an early lead, which led them to 30-year-old Martinis T. Privott of the 800 block of Lindenwood Avenue. Privott turned himself into police that same evening without further incident.

Privott has been charged with one count each of, 2nd degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is currently being held without bond at the Norfolk City Jail.

Previous Release 11/9/2015:
Norfolk, Va. – Tonight, Norfolk police are investigating a deadly shooting on Lindenwood Avenue.

Shortly after 8:45 this evening, police responded to the 800 block of Lindewood Avenue for a report of a man who had been shot.

Once there, police found the man inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died.

The man’s age and identity are not known at this time.

Once the next of kin notification process is complete, his identity will be released.
