[ARCHIVED] Grimes Avenue shooting leaves man dead

Norfolk, VA- Police have identified the victim after yesterday's deadly shooting incident.

Norfolk police responded to the 6300 block of Grimes Avenue after reports of a possible gunshot victim. Police arrived to find 26-year-old Rohan Young lying in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. Medics pronounced Mr. Young dead at the scene.

Norfolk, VA - An early-evening shooting left one man dead and police searching for answers.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, Norfolk dispatchers were contacted about several gunshots heard in the area of Grimes Avenue and North Lakeland Drive.

Police arrived to find a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 6300 block of Grimes Avenue. The man was pronounced dead the scene.

Detectives are not releasing the victim’s identity until his family has been properly notified.
