NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Police Department is praising its Fugitive Unit for the successful arrest of the man accused of killing one and injuring another on Christmas Day.
Brian Hall of Norfolk was positively identified and charged with 28-year-old Johnsason Smith's murder and three other felonies following a Christmas Day shooting incident.
The Norfolk Police Fugitive Unit quickly moved into action, searching for Brian Hall's exact location. Hall was located in an apartment complex off E. Little Creek Road, and initially refused to exit the residence. Detectives continued to speak with Hall throughout the brief standoff and eventually Hall surrendered without incident.
The Norfolk Police Fugitive Unit successfully located and arrested a dangerous criminal from Norfolk's streets within hours of the city's 35th homicide. Thanks to the Detective Division's perseverance and continued efforts, an accused murderer remains behind bars.
