NORFOLK, Va. – An 18-year-old teenager is in jail today facing charges in a shooting that left another teenager dead.
Shortly after 8:10 Monday night, police were called to a home in the 4500 block of Bankhead Avenue for a 15-year-old teenage boy with a gunshot wound.
The teen, Duane White, was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives have charged 18-year-old Tyler K. Ricks of the 4500 block of Bankhead Avenue with 2nd degree murder and use of a firearm.
Ricks is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
Police have not released the relationship between the two teenagers, or the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death.
