NORFOLK, Va. – A 7-Eleven clerk was shot during a robbery overnight in Norfolk.
Detectives say an armed man entered the 7-Eleven at 8489 Chesapeake Blvd shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday and demanded money from two employees.
During the robbery, the man shot the one of the clerks.
The suspect has been described as a black man, around 5 feet 10 inches, and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.
He fled the store prior to police arrival with an undisclosed amount of money.
The 23-year-old clerk was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non-life threatening injury. He is expected to recover.
There were no other injuries reported.
Once surveillance photos or videos are available, they will be released.
