NORFOLK, Va. - After 7 hours of unsuccessful negotiations, man shot and killed a Police K-9, forcing officers to return fire.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday evening, police were called to the 1100 block of Land Street for a person with a weapon.

Once on scene police were advised that a woman and her husband were involved in a domestic disturbance and her husband was armed with a gun.

After an investigation was conducted, four warrants, including abduction, robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and brandishing of a firearm were secured for the man based upon the domestic disturbance.
