[ARCHIVED] A single vehicle accident leaves a man in serious condition

NORFOLK, Va. – The driver of a 2015 Nissan Altima was seriously injured this morning after he lost control of his car, ultimately striking a tree.

Around 3:30 a.m., Norfolk Traffic Fatality team responded to a call for a single car accident in the 6300 block of Hampton Boulevard.

When police arrived, they found a 26-year-old man inside the car in serious condition.

Paramedics transported him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the Nissan was traveling northbound on Hampton Boulevard when the driver lost control of his car striking a power pole guide wire and a tree.

There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and no other injuries were reported.

No other information is available for release at this time.
