[ARCHIVED] A teenager was shot after an altercation Saturday afternoon

NORFOLK, Va. – According to detectives, an altercation between a group of juveniles escalated when a teen fired a weapon grazing another teen.

Around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, police responded to the 7200 block of North Rosemont Drive for a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found a teen with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

During the course of their investigation, detectives positively identified the teenager who fired the weapon.

The teen was located and arrested and is currently being held at the Norfolk Juvenile Detention Center. He is facing a malicious wounding charge as well as two counts of attempted malicious wounding, and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

No further information is available for release at this time.
