[ARCHIVED] Police investigate Norfolk woman's death

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a Norfolk woman this morning.

Police were called to the 800 block of Trice Terrace shortly after 11:30 a.m. for a possible gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found 59-year-old Lillian Bond lying on the sidewalk. Ms. Bond was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.

The exact cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Detectives have classified this case as an active homicide investigation, but have not released details on a possible suspect description.
