NORFOLK, Va. – Four separate overnight shooting incidents have left four people hospitalized and police searching for leads.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m. police responded to the 1500 block of Spruce Street for reports of a possible gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He refused treatment at the scene by paramedics, but was transported by an acquaintance to Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.
Around 10:00 p.m. in the 1700 block of Cypress Street, police responded to a possible gunshot victim. Upon police arrival, they located a 43-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. The preliminary investigation revealed two suspects attempted to break into the victim’s home and he was shot in the process. The man was transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Approximately 45 minutes later, around 10:45 p.m. in the 800 block of A Avenue, a 17-year-old was shot by an unknown suspect. Paramedics transported the teen to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Then around midnight, a 38-year-old man walked into Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The man stated the incident occurred in the 8400 block of Hampton Boulevard, when an unknown suspect robbed him of personal items, then shot him.
At this time, the four incidents do not appear to be related.
