Two hearings will be held in relation to the City of Norfolk Budget. On May 4, City Council will hear comments on the City Operating, Capital Improvement Plan, and HUD Grant (CDBG, ESG and HOME) Budgets. The hearing begins at 6 pm, Granby HS, 7101 Granby Street.
On May 5 Council will hold a real estate public hearing required by the increase in the annual reassessment exceeding one percent. Proposed real estate tax rate remains the same from the current fiscal year at $1.15 per $100 of assessed value. This hearing is also at Granby HS.
The hearings will be streamed live on www.norfolk.gov (click on the Public Hearing button) and re-aired on Norfolk TV, cox channel 48.
