[ARCHIVED] Police identify the man fatality wounded in the overnight shooting

NORFOLK, Va. – Two separate shooting incidents have left three people hospitalized, one person dead and police searching for leads.

Around 10:45 p.m. police responded to the 1700 block of Vernon Drive for reports of a possible gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Approximately 45 minutes later, around 11:30 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of West 28th Street for a gunshot disturbance. Upon police arrival, they discovered two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Jalil Skinner, 28-years-old, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second man, a 35-year-old, was transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The third man, a 26-year-old, fled the area on foot and was found on 26th Street suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
