[ARCHIVED] Two people have been arrested in the Church Street stabbing

NORFOLK, Va. - Detectives have arrested two women involved with the stabbing death of the man found in a parking lot on Church Street.

Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, police responded to a suspicious situation in the 800 block of Church Street. Upon arrival, they found a man lying in the parking lot suffering from multiple puncture wounds. Paramedics pronounced Carl S. Shands, Jr., a 56-year-old man deceased on scene.

Through the investigation, detectives have charged 22-year-old Simyua L. Askew and Natia S. Boddie, 25-years-old with 2nd degree murder. Both women are currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail.

No further information is available for release at this time.
