NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk police are requesting the public’s assistance in catching a bank robbery suspect.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, a man walked into the Chartway Federal Credit Union located at 4702 Hampton Boulevard. The man demanded money from a teller through a written note. Once he obtained the money, he fled from the area on foot, traveling eastbound on W. 47th Street. It is unknown at this time whether the man left the area in a vehicle or remained on foot.
The man has been described as a white male, approximately 6’2” in height and weighing 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a long black wig, a black hat with tape hiding the front logo, a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, black baggie pants, and dark-colored work boots. He appeared to be wearing multiple layers of clothing.
