[ARCHIVED] Police make an arrest in the deadly shooting on Johnson Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. – Police have charged 40-year-old, Shelton Givens with the deadly shooting that occurred on Johnson Avenue.

Sunday afternoon at 2:43 p.m. dispatchers received a call to the 800 block of Johnson Avenue for a possible gunshot victim. When police arrived, they found 41-year-old Kenneth Britt, of Norfolk, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced Britt deceased at the scene.

Givens is facing charges for 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He remains in the Norfolk City Jail, held without bond.

No other information is available for release at this time.
