[ARCHIVED] Investigation begins after two teenagers shot Saturday evening

NORFOLK, Va. – Detectives are working to uncover leads after two teenagers were shot late Saturday evening.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., Norfolk police responded to reports of gunshots heard in the 6300 block of Chesapeake Boulevard. When officers arrived on scene, they located two teenagers suffering from gunshot wounds.

The 14 and 15-year-old victims were transported by medics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. At this time, their injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the teens were standing outside and possibly injured in what has been described as a "drive-by shooting."

The southbound lanes in the 6300 block of Chesapeake Boulevard are temporarily closed while detectives continue to canvass the scene for evidence.
