[ARCHIVED] Man charged in murder of Norfolk woman

Norfolk, Va. - Detectives with the Norfolk Police Department's Homicide Section announced the arrest of a man connected to the death of Nancy Green.

On June 10, 2016, Norfolk police were advised 50-year-old Clinton Davis has possibly harmed a family member or someone known to him. Detectives were able to find a listing for Nancy Green, a 62-year-old Norfolk woman known to Davis and conducted a welfare check at her home.

Upon entering Nancy Green's residence in the 900 block of Grayson Street, detectives located her remains. Although medics responded to the address, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Davis was taken into police custody in the early morning hours on June 10, 2016. As a result of the preliminary investigation, he has been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder in relation to Green's death.

Davis is currently being held without bond in the Norfolk City Jail.

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk police detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a woman’s death.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. Friday morning, police responded to the 900 block of Grayson Street to check on the well-being of a woman. Responding officers located the woman inside the residence; however, she was unresponsive. Responding paramedics pronounced the woman dead upon arrival.

Norfolk police identified the woman as 62-year-old Nancy M. Green of the 900 block of Grayson Street.

Green’s death has been classified as an active homicide investigation.

The exact cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
