[ARCHIVED] A shooting in Norfolk leaves a man dead

NORFOLK, Va. - An early morning shooting on Argonne Avenue has left a man dead.

Norfolk police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Argonne Avenue around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2016, for a possible gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found 44-year-old William M. Johnson, III, lying on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Paramedics pronounced Johnson deceased on scene.

There is no suspect information at this time, as this investigation is in the preliminary stages.
