[ARCHIVED] Woman dies in a two vehicle accident on Granby Street

NORFOLK, Va. – Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a Hyundai and a Chrysler that occurred just before 2:00 p.m. in the 8100 block of Granby Street.

The preliminary investigation reveals the driver of the Chrysler was traveling southbound on Granby Street and attempted to make a left turn. The Hyundai was traveling northbound and struck the Chrysler as the driver attempted the turn.

The driver of the Hyundai reported no injuries at this time. The two women in the Chrysler were transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The driver suffered serious injuries. The passenger later died at the hospital. The woman’s identity will not be released until there is a proper Next-of-Kin notification.

The Norfolk police traffic fatality team will investigate the accident and turn their findings over to the Commonwealth Attorney’s office for review.

There is no further information available for release at this time.
