[ARCHIVED] Man walks into Norfolk fire station with a gunshot wound

NORFOLK, Va. – Detectives are investigating after a man walked into Fire Station 8 located at 526 Frederick Street with a gunshot wound.

Shortly before 1:15 Monday afternoon, dispatchers were notified by paramedics that a man had entered the station suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics rushed the 55-year-old man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.

Preliminary investigation reveals the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Rockingham Street, and then the man walked to the fire station for assistance.
