NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk police have confirmed the man shot on July 15, 2016 near West 49th Street and Hampton Boulevard has died from his injuries.
Shortly before 2:25 a.m. Friday morning, police responded to the intersection of West 49th Street and Hampton Boulevard for a person who had been shot. When police arrived, they found Dante Lewis, of Chicago, inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Lewis, 24, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital but died Saturday evening sounded by his family.

NORFOLK, Va. – Detectives are investigating an overnight shooting that has left a man with significant injuries.
Shortly before 2:25 a.m., Norfolk police responded to a call for a gunshot victim near West 49th Street and Hampton Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old man inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Medics transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what has been described as life-threatening injuries.
