[ARCHIVED] Triple shooting leaves one dead, investigation continues

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred late Thursday evening, and left one man dead.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. Thursday evening, a police officer was flagged down by a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 300 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard. Upon initializing the investigation, the officer discovered two more gunshot victims within the immediate area.

One man was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries and declined further treatment. The second man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Both men are expected to make a full recovery.

The third gunshot victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s identity will not be released until his next of kin has been properly notified.

Detectives have classified this incident as an active homicide and malicious wounding investigation.
