[ARCHIVED] Missing Norfolk man suffers from mental ailments

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing man suffering from dementia, schizophrenia and epilepsy.

Detectives report 68-year-old Clarence Edward McInnis left Sentara Norfolk General Hospital against medical advice at approximately 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. Family members were unable to locate McInnis following his departure and reported him missing to police.

McInnis is a black male with a dark complexion, standing approximately 5’5” in height and weighing 123 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes with black “scruffy” facial hair. McInnis was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and blue jeans.

McInnis was recently reported missing in June 2016 and discovered by a Virginia Beach police officer in the City of Virginia Beach three days later. He commonly goes by the nickname “Uncle Boot” and has difficulty walking unassisted.

Norfolk police encourage anyone who sees Mr. McInnis or knows his whereabouts to contact 9-1-1 immediately.
