[ARCHIVED] Teen injured in afternoon shooting

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk police detectives search for leads following a Sunday afternoon shooting incident that left one hospitalized.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., dispatchers received multiple calls about a possible gunshot victim near the intersection of W. 29th Street and Gosnold Avenue.  When officers arrived on scene, they located a 14-year-old boy suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The teen was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting incident occurred at a separate location.  The teen was then dropped off by a private party at W. 29th Street and Gosnold Avenue. where he was discovered by police and paramedics.

Police have not released possible suspect description and encourage anyone with information about this shooting to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
