[ARCHIVED] An early morning shooting leaves one man dead in the Berkley section of the City

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk police are investigating an early morning shooting that took place in the Berkley section of the City.

Shortly after midnight dispatchers received a call for a gunshot victim in the 600 block of East Liberty Street. When police arrived, they found a man lying in the parking lot of the Shop 'N Go suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was quickly transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity will not be released until his family has been notified.
