NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Last evening, a Norfolk man was involved in three incidents that left him behind bars this morning.
On January 2, 2017 at approximately 7:50 p.m., 26-year-old Hakeem Graham of the 7400 block of Fenner Street was involved in a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Bayview Boulevard and Tidewater Drive. Graham fled from the scene, running to a nearby 7-Eleven convenience store at 8594 Tidewater Drive.
While on 7-Eleven property, Graham assaulted two people and took a bystander’s truck by force. He then fled from the area in the stolen truck.
While fleeing from the area, Graham was involved in a second motor vehicle accident after he rear-ended another vehicle in the 7500 block of Tidewater Drive. As Graham attempted to run from the scene again, the driver of the rear-ended vehicle discharged a firearm.
Police responded to the area and quickly took Graham and the armed party into custody. The firearm was safely recovered and there were no injuries reported as a result of the discharged firearm.
Police charged Hakeem Graham with one count of Felony Hit and Run, one count of Carjacking, and two counts of misdemeanor Assault and Battery.
24-year-old Henry Luschei of Jacksonville, North Carolina was charged with one count of misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm.
Both men are being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
